I feel like I am drinking on my own.

There seems to be a real lack of women in the investing education space. And when I am talking about investing I mean, more than just the hyped up index fund and ETF investing. We all know about Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger, Monish Pabrai, Peter Lynch, and Benjamin Graham. And when looking for educational resources, all you have to do is google any of these names and you will find a plethora of books, videos and websites that you can learn from.

This is uninspiring for the upcoming female investor. It has been well documented that women do quite well trading in the stock market, but this is not the message I am seeing via media. The investing scene and more specifically the value investing scene seems to be dominated by men. Are all the women investors too busy to inspire other women? Too old to use social media? Scared of being ridiculed by the men who dominate the scene?

Social media seems to be saturated with accounts from mostly women, sharing their journey to financial freedom. This movement of women empowering each other to be financially independent excites me to no end. You will also find tonnes of financial gurus sharing how they become millionaires by the age of 30 by simply using index funds as well as real estate moguls who share how they create a passive income via the housing market. I have come across some great accounts that discuss investing, but they mostly discuss market trends and hyped up blue chip stocks. And let’s not even go there with the increasing amount of day trading coaching accounts (insert eye roll).

Finding accounts that are engaging and relatable, to learn about value investing and inspire me on my journey to becoming a good investor is proving to be difficult. And so far I have found not one single account created by a female value investor. And so whilst I am still in the very rookie stages of my self taught investing journey, I feel compelled to share what I learn, because I am certain there are plenty of incredibly smart women out there who are also on a similar journey.

Ladies, if you are into economics, stock picking, and business, and enjoy a nice glass of red, let's not drink alone anymore!

Cheers.
